The WARP Mechanics® AP-2224-JS24 is a high-end Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) platform comprised of two dual-processor controllers with 24 shared 12Gbps SAS3 disk bays for complete HA capability between controllers.

Each AP-2224 contains two independently serviceable application-processing modules featuring eight lanes of PCI-E 3.0 connectivity between them for high speed data transfers between nodes for High Availability or fail-over configurations. Configure the modules as redundant application controllers or as independent nodes in dense server arrays. Dense, fast, and reliable, the AP-2224 platform is well-suited for large scale-out systems in which any application module in the cluster could take over for any other.

The AP-2224 modules each may contain up to two 22-core Intel® processors and up to 1TB RAM, yielding 88 cores and 2TB of RAM per chassis. In addition, each AP-2224 canister also contains three PCIe 3.0 x8 slots to provide multiple high-speed I/O interfaces. Depending on the appliance, each module may have multiple ports of 1/10/40Gbps Ethernet, 6/12Gbps SAS, 40/56Gbps InfiniBand, or 58Gbps Omni-Path.

The AP-2224 provides onboard IPMI 2.0 management plus an integrated KVM with dedicated LAN connectivity. Each application module is also connected to 24x hot-swap 2.5″ drive modules on the front of the appliance, which may be used for application or user data. For larger configurations, it can be combined with any of the WARP Mechanics storage platforms or appliances such as the ultra-dense WDS-9460 JBODs, which can scale to over 5 petabytes connected to the AP-2224.
